In 2010 my wife Alexandra and I made an extended driving and camping tour of Alaska. June & July, Toyota Prius, perpetually wet tent, drizzle and cold winds, and the relief of expensive hotels. Great scenes and experiences.
Several photographic concepts were used:
• Character of place,
• Designs, patterns, and other fruits of quiet contemplation, and
• Human interaction with wildness—especially experiences of tourism and industrial utilization.
Some of the results are expressed in digital collages presenting several aspects of a situation in a single image. The component images are all closely related to the same situation.
